The Affordable Housing Alliance of Connecticut (formerly known as the Connecticut Housing Coalition) represents the broad, vibrant network of community-based, affordable housing activity across the state. Our more than 250 member organizations include nonprofit developers, human service agencies, resident associations and diverse other housing practitioners and advocates.
Founded in 1981, the Affordable Housing Alliance’s mission is to lead Connecticut’s housing industry in growing affordable and equitable communities. Our educational activities include conferences, training workshops and networking/referral services. We sponsor the Community Developers Network, the Emerging Leaders Network, and Housing Connections. We also provide a means for those on the front-lines of dealing with our housing crisis to impact the shaping of public policy, both at the State Capitol and in Washington.
The Affordable Housing Alliance has played a leading role on issues including: financing for affordable housing development and rehabilitation, rental assistance for low-income households, fair housing opportunity and homelessness prevention. Action alerts keep members posted on legislative and regulatory developments.
