The Affordable Housing Alliance of Connecticut assists developers of affordable housing and other community development stakeholders through its Community Developers Network. Community Development Corporations (CDCs) build and rehabilitate housing across Connecticut, working in some of the most difficult settings, serving those who are priced out of the private market. The Network brings together people across sectors who are committed to revitalizing neighborhoods, promoting housing choice, and meeting the needs of low- and moderate-income households.
The purpose of the Network is to advance the work of affordable housing development organizations, increasing their capacity and expanding the resources available for their work. The Network facilitates communications and opportunities for collaboration among developers, intermediaries, financial institutions and public agencies. It coordinates advocacy around policy initiatives, provides training and technical assistance, promotes opportunities to increase affordable housing production, and seeks to overcome barriers to the efficiency and scale of production.
Quarterly meetings of Network participants provide learning and networking opportunities, feature expert speakers, offer presentations about member projects and initiatives, and promote joint planning for advocacy and capacity building activities.
Training programs for developers, property and asset managers, and others working in the housing development sector are also offered through the Network.
